Tucson, May 20, 2014 - The 3000 Club is urgently seeking donations of humanitarian aid supplies to help the Southern tornado victims.  Twelve Mississippi counties have been named in the Presidential major disaster declaration for tornado and storm damage since April 28, 2014.  The 3000 Club is collaborating with several organizations in Mississippi to provide aid to the victims including the  neighboring states of Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri and Arkansas for this tornado  and hurricane season.

“We are desperately needing relief items such as nonperishable goods (canned goods, soups, biscuits, nutrition bars), soaps, wash cloths, toothpaste and toothbrushes, blankets, flashlights, clothes, first aid supplies, pots and pans, slippers and shoes and financial assistance.  We have warehousing and distribution resources in place, both in Phoenix and in Tucson,  where your donation can make a huge impact! Collaboration with the local Red Cross office in Jackson and with Mississippi Delta Council who will receive and distribute the supplies has been formed as we are preparing for our first shipment which will benefit victims in affected areas such as Winston and Lee counties, Mississippi and some counties in Arkansas. “,  said Ethel Luzario,  President and CEO of The 3000 Club.

The 3000 Club, mostly known for  humanitarian aid in the international arena, continues its aid efforts overseas with ongoing shipments of medical supplies and disaster relief items providing aid to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and in Haiti in collaboration with Southwest Medical Aid.  We are in it for long term aid!

Your donation can be dropped off at any of the Market On the Move locations through Saturday, June 7, from 7 to 10 a.m., in any of the Big Brothers-Big Sisters drop offs in Tucson or our warehouses located at 250 S. Toole Avenue in Tucson or 1741 W. Rose Garden Lane, Suites 6-9 in Phoenix from Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting Saturday, June 14, MOM distribution will take place from 6 to 9 a.m. in both warehouses so you can bring your donations as well.  We are ready to pick up bulk donations as well.
